FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

We've had many opportunities this summer to speak publicly about the IMD, and what our partners are doing to help guide us toward our goal of becoming the next great health innovation district. I'd like to share with you a few examples, and let you know of some upcoming opportunities.

MckinneyCTA

In July, the IMD was profiled in an article for Bisnow, a commercial real estate news site. Last week, I was a panelist for a Lendlease event, where we discussed changes in healthcare and their effect on the built environment. I also spoke at the CTA press conference to announce the re-opening of the IMD Blue Line stop.

Later this month, I'll sit on a panel at the BuiltWorlds Cities Conference to discuss the future of urban development, specifically in the healthcare sector.

Finally, on September 6, I'll speak at City Club for the second time as Executive Director of the IMD. The time is now for the IMD to put itself on the map, and a big part of our story is the tremendous impact that IMD partners make in the community, city, county and state. If you'd like to know more about any of these events, of if you're interested in attending, please contact IMD Communications Director Ryan Gage.

ChicagoCAC BACKPACK DRIVE

Every year, Chicago Children's Advocacy Center hosts a Back to School BackPack Drive.

Children who are served at ChicagoCAC are provided with backpacks filled with school supplies. By providing them with the right tools, ChicagoCAC helps kids succeed in school, and gives their parents one less thing to worry about.
